2008 Future West Valley Royalty

No Present Royalty, ,
1. Royalty superintendent must be notified of intent to compete by May 25th . Record book and application are due by June 1st.
2. Interview will take place on or about June 15th. Three or more judges, in addition to the record book and application scores, will determine the three finalists from the contestants.
3. Contestant must be 14 years old and not over 19 as of January 1 of the current year.
4. Contestant must be enrolled as a 4-H and/or FFA member.
5. Contestant must be a current West Valley Fair exhibitor, with a current up-to-date record book.
6. Contestants will be judged 100 points on record book(s), 50 points on application, 100 points on interview (poise, personality, project knowledge, fair history), and FINALIST ONLY, 50 points on public presentation/speaking before the Kiwanis club or other similar organization concerning the contestants projects, etc. More information will be given to finalists. This presentation will also be given at the coronation ceremony Thursday night, but will NOT be judged.
7. Those contestants enrolled in both 4-H and FFA must turn in a record book for each. Both books will be judged and their scores averaged. Failure to turn in both record books could result in disqualification from the contest.
8. The Royalty will be announced at the Coronation ceremonies on Thursday night of the fair.
9. Last year's Royalty shall crown the new royalty in the event of no royalty from a previous year the new royalty will be crowned by the royalty superintendent.
10. Royalty must wear banners and crowns while on the fairgrounds, with the exception of any time they are involved in competition.
11. The majority of the fair publicity falls on the candidates (posters, news releases, interviews, etc.). Contestants must be available for reasonable appearances and responsibilities during the four weeks of the contest and for parades and other functions throughout the year following coronation.
