Fair Fundraisers
NO ONE connected with the West Valley Fair receives ANY monetary gains from being a part of the fair. All work is done by volunteers, be they adults or the kids that take part. It costs NOTHING to park or attend our fair.
Although we do receive a small amount of money from the State, as all fairs do, it is only about one third of the amount we need to put on our fair. With the money we raise, we must pay for building repairs and ground maintenance, electric bills, phone bills, insurance, trophies, ribbons, medals, belt buckles, premium money, cash prizes, advertising, etc. The list goes on.
To raise the $3000-4000 we need each year to put on our fair, we have many fund raising activities. These include, but are not limited to:
Concession Stand. At the Tampico Saddle Club's annual rodeo, the weekend following Mother's Day. If you enjoyed the food at our BBQ, attend the rodeo and check out the leftovers! You must pay to attend the rodeo to have a chance to support the fair by buying food at our concession stand.
Raffle. Throughout the year, we will raffle off a 1/2 beef, a full pig, a full goat, and a lamb. Ticket sales start around April and continue until the fair in August. The drawing will be held August 2, 2008 at 12pm and winners need not be present to win. Cutting and wrapping is included. Also we hold a Silent auction in the Blue Barn starting July 31st and ending 2pm August 2nd.
Donations accepted.
